The WJ 1×10’s used as a
PA for vocals & backing tracks

The WJ1000 Watt powered 1×10 stereo system used as a PA for vocals & backing tracks.

Yesterday they were used as a vocal PA – totally cut it with their clarity, power & the fact they were so light weight & effortless to transport. On-board mixer EQ was just fine – no need for a graphic.

With their pure & accurate reproduction of whatever goes into them, they are not only excellent for bass they can now also be used as a PA & make for a fantastic keyboard stereo system.

Nashville Music Gear Expo 2015

Nashville Music Gear Expo weekend held in Hotel Preston.

What a great way to hold an expo. The Hotel was fully booked out with every type of musical equipment you could think of. It started at midday & finished at Midnight, Friday – Sunday.

Once again I smiled as I watched the faces of everyone that plugged in & played my rigs. The main comments were “These are Incredible!”, “so clear, punchy”, “full frequency with such separation”, “How does all that sound come out of a 2×10?”,  “they are far advanced of anything they have ever heard!”. Then they tried 2 cabs & were like children in a toy shop.

Met some great renowned players & their partners that came to try the gear too. John Marcus from Tim McGraw band. Tim Gaines from the legendary band Stryper & his lovely partner Irene Kelly Gaines.

It was a surprise to see an Australian representation on the main stage. Myself & Sleishman drums. It was nice to meet Mike who now lives in Nashville.

Back to Australia for a while then NAMM in January.

André Berry & George Johnson’s clinic & tribute to Louis Johnson was fantastic. Verdine White, Jerry Jammott & Tal Wilkenfld were all sitting side stage. Andre used 2 WJ 2×10 cabs & the WJBP pre amp. David Sanborn & André Berry
Soundcheck at Blue Note, Nagoya

Just got back from seeing David Sanborn at the Nagoya Blue Note with endorsee Andre Berry playing bass. Andre is an awesome player. Lot of respect for him. It was a privilege to be a part of their day, provide that awesome bass sound & hang out with the whole band. Great people & amazing musicians.

At soundcheck, in passing David actually said he would love every bass player that works with him to have a Wayne Jones rig. It made that much difference to his stage sound. Drummer Chris Coleman also made comment on how the rig was a wonderful joy to play alongside. Chris also happens to be a very good bass player himself, and he jumped up to have play on the bass through the rig as well – loving it!  Makes me feel proud.
